50 tips and resources to implet user-generated content in your library
the list at collegedegrees.com of 50 tips and resources to implet user-generated content in your library is a sign of the social networking times. it could be thought of as how to smart mob information. jessica merritt introduces her list with these thoughts:
these days, it?s not enough for libraries to just share information, they must be a part of the creation of new information, too. and in the internet age, everyone?s a content creator. embracing the trend of user-generated content allows you not only to spread even more information, but to engage library users as well. read on to find out how to go about doing this, and pick up some handy resources along the way.

tryphone update - new phones to test drive

we first reported on tryphone last december, when the service was first introduced by molecomplete. for those of you who need a refresher, tryphone gives you the ality to try cellphones before you buy. use their interactive online virtual handsets to test-drive mole devices, applications, content and services, as well as watch demos - right from the comfort and convenience of your own computer.
as they say on their site:
"no pressure, no salespeople, no product uncertainty and no features you don't understand. try it, then go buy it... on your terms."
when they first launched, you could try out 4 phones. i checked in on them today, and they are now up to 15 phones, including the palm centro, and the lg shine.
they are still in beta so there are some kinks to work out, but this is a cool idea and a nice service. we may add their widget to the blog.
