question of the day: what do you use to take your pographs?

like many people, i have a digital camera and a cameraphone?but i find myself taking most of my ss with my phone just because it is so convenient. this is true despite the fact that the 2-megapixel camera on the iphone s goats (and it won't be getting any better next time around). so, my question to you is, what device do you use to take most of your pographs?

64 gb mem storage in psp possible via pofast card adapter
how would you like 32 gb of storage on your psp? that sounds like an impossility, right? well, we recently picked up an email and some pictures from tipster hitori futari, who made tion of a special adapter that can do just that.
here's the pertinent portion of his email for you to look at:
stumbled over this gadget which makes external harddrives for psp pretty much obsolete. taiwanese based company pofast offers an adapter that can hold up to 4 sdhc memory cards, totalling in 32 gb storage for your psp! comne 2x 8gb sdhc in 1 of their dual slot adapters and double that!
they also announced that it could soon go up to 64 gb max. storage!! but that's not official news, one of the sales guys leaked that through... he also said that they continually implet sony's latest standards in order to keep their products compatible with any sony device. should be a pretty safe bet if that's true. besides that, using their ms pro duo adapter cr-5300 saves you quite some bucks since sdhcs are much cheaper than sony's official memory sticks.
this t of information certainly seems like something straight out of a dream. imagine what you could do with potentially 32 gb of storage on your psp (heck, even the 16 gb pointed out in the pictures below is a g difference)! that's a couple of movies, music, and some homebrew right there.
in any event, expect us to keep tabs on this intriguing developt. folks, you better hope this s out in your region, because it'd be such a shame if we didn't get to see this on psps everywhere.
thanks for the tip hitori futari!

the road to tapedeck 1.0
supermegaultragroovy: “by mid april, tapedeck looked very much like tapedeck 1.0 does. we were tweaking all sorts of the ui, and finishing off the functionality. the design awards deadline was announced, and i openly wondered if we could ship on time. i figured we might as well go for it, because external schedule pressure is always effective to maximize my use of time. :)” (via daring fireball.)

tetris mole still going strong

at&t (nyse:att) announced the top selling mole games from their wireless store for the first quarter of 2008.
tetris is still #1.
i am not surprised, but that fact alone tells you a lot about the state of the mole game market. i mean tetris is a fun game, but the #1 selling game? no way.
this is all about discovery and merchandising. taking a quick look at the list, i think the only game that has been released in the last year is guitar hero iii mole. all of the other les have been around for awhile.
at&t's top selling games in q1, 2008:
1. tetris
2. bejeweled
3. pac-man by namco
4. wheel of fortune 2007
5. diner dash
6. midnight pool
7. ms.pac-man by namco
8. world poker tour - texas hold ?em
9. world poker tour 2
10. guitar hero iii mole
compare the above list to the bestselling downloadable pc casual games on g fish games. the oldest game on their top 10 list was released on may 14, 2008 - not even a month ago.
two downloadable platforms with a similar consumer make-up with dramatically different games being downloaded. one lives in a frictionless open environt and one lives in a weirdly fragted and friction rich environt. watch this space.

living out of a suitcase (sort of) & loving it
there's nothing like a move to help you realize just how much stuff, and unnecessary stuff at that, you aculate over time. as our household goods now head by sea to california, it's life kind of out of a suitcase for the next six weeks. and that minimalist life is pretty refreshing.
i often tell friends about one of the best times of my life. it was backpacking through europe in 1989, and one day in particular always s to mind. my friend and i had made our way out to westport, ireland -- just above galway. we walked up the local mountain croagh patrick, had a night in the local pub, then it was hitchhiking time.
we'd never hitchhiked before. ireland, we were told, was the place to do it. feeling a t nervous, we gave it a go. we started walking down a coastal road with no particular direction in mind and for me, pretty much all i owned other than my books on my back. aside from my books, i had a few more clothes and a clunker of a car i'd left behind in california. being out of college, i was pretty broke.
what i had on my back was enough. walking to nowhere was great. years of both working my way through college, worrying about money, dealing with coursework, pondering what i'd do after college -- none of it mattered. i had a backpack with a few clothes, a good book i'd picked up at used bookstore, a friend at my side and all day to go anywhere or nowhere at all.
of course, my trip ended. and back home, it was nice to get an apartt again, a couch, a tv, the trappings of a "civilized" life. but when my wife and i decided to move to england in 1996, many of those things were abandoned. some things were shipped -- my growing book collection, some clothes but much was sold. shipping was expensive, especially when we still hadn't saved much and what we did have was going into a four month long trip before arriving in the uk.
more than a decade later, the possessions have built up. those who know me are pretty familiar with my pent up consumer demand when i get back to the us, hauling to the uk things you can't get there -- holiday items, books for the kids about the us and other things. and the kids! how did i end up buying so many toys they never seem to play with? and was i completely obsessed with wooden brio track for the (yes, i apparently was).

sony ericsson's alicia walkman phone tour video is slicktastic
sony ericsson's upcoming "alicia" walkman phone has a very interesting circle on the outside of its flip-casing. this video lets us in on its secret—it's a display? if we're interpreting it correctly, the front surface might have two displays, one small square one on top of the larger circular one, which also acts as a control pad for music, weather, and other apps. hmmm, a portable music device that has a square on the top and a circle on the bottom. where have i seen that before? oh right, the zune.
